FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. How Do I book an initial appointment? Do I need a referral?

Yes, you will need to be seen by an MD for a referral to our office. Once we have received the referral and determined the timeline to be seen, our office will contact you to book an appointment.

Q. How do I get my imaging results?

Results for investigations such as MRI, CT, or X-ray are reviewed during follow-up consultation with Dr. Brooks-Hill or Dr. Clark. Please contact the Sea to Sky Orthopaedics office if you require a follow up appointment to an investigation.

Q. An MRI has been ordered, what happens now?

MRI requests are submitted by our office. There are several medical services plan (MSP) funded locations in Vancouver where our office submits requisitions. We make an effort to send it to the hospital that has the shortest wait time, however wait times have been unpredictable and some patients have waited over a year for an appointment. The hospital typically calls each patient directly to advise him/her of their appointment time.

Please call our office at (604) 905-4075 approximately 7 – 10 business days after your exam to allow time for the report to reach our office.

Most lab work, including but not limited to, EKG and bloodwork can be completed at the Whistler Health Care Centre, Squamish General Hospital or Pemberton Health Centre.
